Homemade Brownie

Ingredients:

  • Dark Compound Chocolate – 140g

  • Salted Butter – 60g (¼ cup)

  • Condensed Milk – 80g (¼ cup)

  • Milk – 125ml (½ cup)

  • Powdered Sugar – 65g (½ cup)

  • All-Purpose Flour (Maida) – 95g (¾ cup)

  • Cocoa Powder – 28g (4 tbsp)

  • Baking Powder – ¼ tsp (Use less for fudgy, more for cakey texture)

  • Chopped Walnuts – For garnishing


Step-by-Step Method:

1. Melt Chocolate and Butter

  • Chop 140g of dark compound chocolate.

  • In a heatproof bowl, add chocolate and 60g salted butter. 


  • Place this bowl over a saucepan with simmering water (double boiler method). 

    Use Double Boiler 


    Make sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water. 

  • Stir continuously until both melt and combine smoothly. Turn off the heat and let it cool for 2–3 minutes.

2. Prepare the Baking Tin

  • Preheat your oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes (top and bottom rods ON). 

  • Line two 5-inch square baking tins with parchment paper for easy release.

3. Mix the Wet Ingredients

  • To the warm (not hot) melted chocolate-butter mix, add:

    • 80g condensed milk

    • 125ml milk        

          

  • Mix well until smooth.

4. Sift and Add Dry Ingredients

  • In a sieve, add:

    • 65g powdered sugar

    • 95g maida (all-purpose flour)

    • 28g cocoa powder

    • ¼ tsp baking powder

  • Sift directly into the wet mix to avoid lumps.

  • Gently fold everything until well combined and smooth.

5. Add Walnuts & Bake

  • Add chopped walnuts and fold them in (optional).

  • Pour the batter into the prepared tins. Spread evenly.

  • Tap the pan gently to release air bubbles.

  • Garnish the top with more walnuts.

6. Bake the Brownies

  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes

  • You’ll notice the brownie puff up, then settle with crackly tops – a perfect fudgy texture.
